First six steps of Ana Tajder’s plan to save the world:
- Switch off the financial markets. Just like that. They are anyway nothing but legalised crime. OK, softer version: tax them, but heroically! No, I changed my mind again – switch them off!
- Put all big companies under state control. What is that shit about Coca-Cola buying water wells and Time Warner deciding about what we think?
- Limit wealth (500 million [€ or $, I don’t care] should be enough for any rich person. More is not doing anyone any good. And definitely is stolen. The rest should be given to state for the projects that will benefit ALL
- Wake the governments up (!) – only princesses are allowed to sleep for 100 years!
- Remind those sleeping princesses about their job description: serving, protecting and guiding their people and assuring well being for ALL. Not: licking capital’s ass. If they are not capable of doing that, do what you do with every employee who is not capable of doing their job: fire them. No golden handshake – employment office. Eventually retrain them into… don’t know…gardeners or something similar, where they can’t do much damage.
- Find someone who is capable of being the government and serving the people. Ooooopssss! I know, it is going to be a hard job. But maybe they exist.
OK, that should be enough for the start.

I agree, but you have to reverse the order: First find the people who can run the government, and then do the rest in case you actually find those.
Ad 1: Great idea! Hide your money under your mattresses until inflation has made it worthless. Oh – nothing to hide! I would be broke if the financial markets were to be switched off – and a few more who have pension funds and other nasty things…
Ad 2: Have you read Lenin recently? And forgotten Ed Mosca? And do you really want states, regimes and dictators decide what we think?
Ad 3: I almost agree. Just the “stolen”-allegation sounds again like Lenin or Chávez. And there is still the Universal Declaration of Human Rights – Arcticle 17!
Ad 4: You got me!
Ad 5: Accepted!
Ad 6: That is what we have elections for…
Hi guys, thank you for your input and ideas to improve the plan
Ad 1: Find fair alternatives to financial markets. They are possible.
Ad 2 & 3: I don’t believe in democracy anymore – it proved to be nothing but a dictatorship of mediocricity, greed, egomania, laziness, consumerism and self-obsession
Ad 4,5 & 6: The only problem with non-democracy/perfect government is finding someone to do it, someone who would think & function for the well-being of the general public…. Am a bit scared that this is impossible. But I agree with Oliver – this should actually be the first step in Ana’s Plan.
And C, thank you for reminding me of Mosca. Was my favorite teacher ever!
I agree that democracy is not a perfect government system, but as my father (you know he is a wise guy!) always says there is unfortunately no better one. We all know that power corrupts anyone holding it and democracy is the one government system better prepared to fight against this… Still doesn’t work well enough, I know! But I do really don’t know a better one!
“It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all the others that have been tried.” – W. Churchill
Anyone here wiser than Churchill? No? That´s what I thought… so Churchill and Nesi´s father must be right!
