Capitalism is Dead (no worries, will be put on life supporting machines)

I can just say “Capitalism is dead.” Never thought I could say this still in my 30’s!!!

So what now?

In my fairy tale, we (they) would admit we (they) failed and see how we could turn this catastrophe into a new system which works and is fair. Save what can be saved. Enough of economic/financial pixie magic! Greets to Mr. Marx!

In real life, we (they) will take this corpse and put some make up on it and make it work. Somehow. And yes, YOU will pay for the make up! Of course Mr. Flud gets to keep his $460 million compensation. And no, he will not donate anything for the lipstick!

And in real life a corpse with lipstick cannot function, so it will keep on collapsing while we (they) keep on drenching whatever can still be drenched out. Until our corpse turns into nothing but a pile of ashes.

Yes my dears, we’ll all be in that pile.

Ashes to ashes……

I do not consider investment banks a symbol of capitalism but rather of over-information where people think that just because they heard about something they know about it well enough to buy into it.

Its a lemming-effect that supports the unscrupulous, just like a sect or a brand making weight-loss creams. People want to believe it, run for it and depending on the money they invest and the speed and amount the deception blows up, learn from it or not.

We will pay for the makeup, too. The people who loose their jobs will be supported by our tax money anyhow.

Capitalism is not dead, it simply got an inch more fair. Idiots can actually get blamed and punished, instead of rewarded. The less people work in non-value creating business fields the more stable our economy will be. Its finally all a question how much we need to protect people from doing stupid things (like investing money into something they have no idea about).

Yes, I agree. But it is not dead just because we won’t let it die (gracefully). It reminds me of the ChiChi story. So now look at this – I am going to compare the world economic crisis with my dog almost losing an eye! I can do this. It is my blog.
Few weeks after I complained that Chi became such a good dog (see 16.7.), which means his ass probably got kicked, Chi turned into his good old self and started disappearing and returning home tired after his island adventures. Mom and I were always worried that something might happen to the dog and discussed this dilemma very often, trying to find the right balance between Chi’s freedom and security. Until one night, Chi returned home with his eye popped out. Literally. Thank God, after lots of stress and tears and shock, his eye was saved. As he recovered, we kept Chi on his leash – for his security. He was desperate about this. But very soon, we thought “Well, nothing bad will happen, he’ll be safe, we should let him enjoy his freedom. Life is short.” So we let him off his leash, hoping that this accident was “enough” bad luck for a while.
So, now we have stress and shock and tears. Sooner or later, we’ll recover. And then, we’ll be kept on the leash. But greed (ah, call it “love for freedom”) is stronger. And much sooner then we think, the leash will be forgotten. Until the next accident….
