This ballerina felt very philosophical in her ballet class yesterday…. I realized that the three basic rules of ballet can also be applied to life outside of
1. In order to keep your balance, think forward, not upward
2. You need to go down in order to jump up
3. Think up when you’re going down – otherwise you’ll crash
Happy Easter!

I was a crappy ballerina and, though horoscopes would have me believe that Librans are balanced folk, have the worse sense of balance imaginable. One little trick I taught (and have to keep re-teaching) myself for times of change and challenge, when it’s so easy to lose your balance and get knocked off course, is to imagine looking at the world through a third eye. Another tip is from singing: to reach a high note, don’t strain your neck upwards, keep your chin low and eyes level.
In 3 weeks I climb into an iron bird to fly off to a new life, at a time when “sane” women of my age are contemplating retirement and grandchildren. Im scared shitless. Thanks for your Easter philosophizing Ana, it comes at a perfect time to remind me that we make the rules to run our lives, and that there are very practical tips and skills that we can use to bolster our courage and help us along the path. I will add your 3 tips to my little magic bag and keep it close to me on my travels.
Good luck with the book launch, Ana! I love your site and really look forward to reading your book when it’s published in German (AND English!).
