Israeli Elections

Isn’t incredible that murdering thousands of people and ruining millions of lives became a totally legitimate election campaign?
And that is everywhere in the world…..

i had a short bitter laugh when the lady from the news on tv said it was a head to head race between the right party and … the far right party. people are dumb period. and that is why they keep on making the same mistakes over and over again. ok being more compassionate we can also say that a certain psychological phenomenon that is common with individuals – trying to cope with traumatization by seeking the same situation over and over again, sometimes with roles reversed and usually escalating until some kind of climax in hope for katharsis – may also be around with a society as a whole. but that is no excuse.
and once a mass of people is in (e-)motion, things change and escalate by themselves, in a mass you are nobody and anybody; nobody when it comes to taking action and taking on responsibility for what you do, anybody when parts of the group or her “identity” seems to be challenged or threatened. people will even try to rationalize their stupidity by all kinds of claims, what their so-called enemy is capable of and what he will do and why he is not one of your own kind and why you have to fight them and whatever. Unfortunately hatred is the manna for politicians, they might have to deal with their own frenzy, they might think they do justice, they might even think they change things to the better, but in fact all they do is using that wave of loathing to rise up to power with not a single thought about any victim they leave behind (on either side). ex-yugo tells a sad story about that in my view, but you can find that shit everywhere. ok, that is a bunch of truisms, but what is so frustrating is that people seem to enjoy that strange spectacle until a point where no one will be there anymore to watch it. who cares, the far right might be far from right, but at least they are some kind of fun. and dont we have such clowns as well amongst us in austria? H.C. has a gun too, NOW i feel save ;-)
