There was an article yesterday in the IHT about new south korean "growth clinics" where parents send they 4-5 year old kids. They get medication and special training there to make sure that they grow tall. Supposedly it will help them find a spouse and be successful in the job. I know Koreans are obsessed with looks, cosmetic surgery etc, but I am quite worried that there is no lower age limit on this kind of stuff.

this is something very strange going on in the states. they start to drug their children at a very early age and obv. dont stop, just to keep them functioning. There was a documentary recently that dealt with the abundancy of ADD cases and how the kids get heavily medicated with a wide variety of stuff. starts with Ritalin, goes over to antidepressants and ends with valium.

What is most disturbing even with the professionals is that this kind of multi-medication is obv not tested and no one can say what the longterm effects will be. some may die from cardiac arrest, others (literally can) become serial killers because of the damage that is done to their brains (scans do in fact suggest that). brave new world? maybe. the Frankensteins style.

I guess we killed rock stars. If you expect all the rock stars to be good, donate their money, not trash hotel rooms, drink only water, then you get the people who die of cardiac arrest. And the boring music we have today.

If a company like Microsoft and Accenture sponsor them, the money involved is preventing the "bad guys" from being bad or wild in the traditional sense and simply being bad still, but under prescription. Just boring and sad.
