I just skipped through a copy of Newsweek. And I realized in shock that the ads, or more precisely, the products being advertised, show the most precise image of the degeneracy of our society. Here the list of the ads:

1 ad for asthma medicine nicknamed “Corporate Climber” (!!??)

2 ads for luxury travel

2 ads for retirement funds

1 ad for a luxury car

1 ad for Air Force (?)

1 ad for luxury luggage

1 ad for a mobile computer

1 ad for an overnight stress release device

1 ad for sleeping pills

“Where people wish to attach, they should always be ignorant. To come with a well-informed mind, is to come with an inability of administering to the vanity of others, which a sensible person would always wish to avoid. A woman, especially, if she have the misfortune of knowing anything, should conceal it as well as she can.”

Jane Austin, Northanger Abbey
